QLD Lose By Point In Thriller

Wednesday, 1 July 2009

Queensland again put on a heart-stopping final quarter to come from behind only to lose by a point to Northern Territory at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne today.

In its final Under 18s Championship game Queensland (transformed from the Gold Coast Football Club) hit the post in the final moments before going down to NT 9.6 (60) to QLD 8.11 (59). PNG Recruit Amua Parika kicked 3 goals for Queensland with Cheyne Hutchinson 2 and singles to Fowler, Malani and Magin. Best players for the Coast were Harley, Spring, Holland, Fowler and Hutchinson.

With the U18s Championships over McKenna’s team now concentrates on the remainder of the TAC Cup season with another game this weekend at Gold Coast Stadium Carrara. GCFC will take on the Murray Bushrangers at 3.20pm as a curtain raiser to the AFL LIVE match between Richmond and Adelaide.
